Taoyuan City Government Leads the Way in Technology-Driven Bridge Health Monitoring

Located on a high-risk seismic belt, Taiwan’s bridges and buildings are closely linked to natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons. Traditional bridge inspections are not only labor- and cost-intensive but also often time-consuming and hazardous. Especially after a natural disaster, the immediate acquisition of structural safety information to facilitate rapid and accurate response measures is a major challenge for management agencies. Following the 2019 Nanfang-ao Bridge collapse, local governments have heightened their focus on the safety assessment of critical bridges, actively seeking solutions. Since 2022, the Taoyuan City Government has collaborated with MiTAC to develop a building structure inspection system based on AIOT architecture. This system aims to provide real-time building health monitoring and post-disaster feedback services. The system has been successfully deployed on two important bridges under the jurisdiction of Taoyuan City’s Public Works Department: the Zhuwei Rainbow Bridge and the Taoyuan Nankan Bridge.

MiTAC Partners with NTNU Affiliated Senior High School for AI Lab Setup

The AI lab project, a collaboration between the Y.S. Educational Foundation and The Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University (HSNU), is a significant initiative aimed at advancing technology education and intelligent technology applications. This project not only upgrades the information facilities at HSNU but also provides cutting-edge AI technology resources, with the goal of nurturing the next generation of tech leaders. The AI lab donated by the Y.S. Educational Foundation includes a big data center and a smart library, featuring key equipment such as AI servers and BI hosts. Given that HSNU’s IT room does not have a dedicated temperature-controlled server room, managing heat during the full-speed operation of AI servers posed a challenge, potentially risking equipment performance. To address this issue, the Y.S. Educational Foundation chose to collaborate with MTAC to procure the MiRack AI Cabinet, which allows HSNU to safely and efficiently operate AI servers and other high-performance equipment without the need for an additional temperature-controlled server room.

MiSeeR Quality Prediction System has been successfully deployed at TBI MOTION TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD

In most traditional manufacturing industries, ensuring the quality of products or workpieces is crucial, beyond the processes of research and production. Through methods such as visual inspection, instrument measurements, pressure testing, as well as initial checks and subsequent inspections, regardless of how many checkpoints the product goes through within the factory, the final product delivered to the customer must be in a fully functional, defect-free, and high-quality condition! However, human attention is limited, and in the repetitive process of operating instruments for measurements and interpreting values, there may inevitably be oversights. When dealing with a large quantity of products, in order to optimize human resources, only sampling is often implemented. The sensitivity to defects can only be assured through statistical methods, without effective means of further improvement.
